Company Brief
Dubai, October 10, 2007
It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman. NO! It’s actually the first and biggest advertising banner to be towed by a helicopter across Dubai’s skyline – ever!
In this city of many firsts, it’s hard to find something that makes you stop and stare anymore. But yesterday, people across Dubai were caught off guard when they were cast in the mighty shadow of a 15,000 sq ft banner being towed effortlessly across the skies.
This unique way of advertising, resulted in Crayons Communications, together with their client Dheeraj & East Coast LLC making history in Dubai’s outdoor advertising sector. Trident Aerial executed this inaugural flight.
Departing from the Jumeirah Beach area the banner was towed past the Dubai Marina, down Sheikh Zayed Road towards the Fairmont hotel where a launch party and press conference took place to celebrate this revolutionary advertising medium. After circling a number of times around the hotel it proceeded down to Garhoud Bridge across to Maktoum Bridge and back to the Fairmont for a last fly by before returning to Jumeirah via the Al Wasl Road - completing a one hour historic journey across the landscape of Dubai.
It will be seen once again during the prestigious Cityscape Exhibition taking place from the 16th to 18th of October, where Crayons Communications will be using this mode of advertising on behalf of their client Dheeraj & East Coast. This entire flight will cover 18 hours of flying time during the exhibition.
“With so much clutter at ground level the only other obvious place for a brand to go is to the skies. Therefore the creative team brainstormed and came up with this idea and together with Trident Aerial and Falcon Aviation Services we were able to turn our concept into reality’ said Arshad Zaheer, Managing Director of Crayons Communications, Dubai.
