Buffalo Technology is expanding the capacity of its TeraStation Live (HS-DH4.0TGL/R5) and TeraStation Pro II (TS-H4.0TGL/R5) to 4TB, providing home and business users with more hard drive space to store and share their digital content.
According to IDC (March 2007) the amount of digital data created and copied will grow by 57% every year, reaching 988 billion gigabytes by the end of the decade, comments Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo. By expanding our TeraStation line to 4TB, space for more than 650 DVD movies for the home and 5000 CDs worth of data to the business, we are fulfilling users storage requirements for the forseeable future.
The TeraStation Live is designed for home users that want to store, share or stream multimedia files such as music, family videos and photos around the home. Its multimedia features include Buffalos recently launched 'Web Access' tool, a free online service that allows consumers to instantly and securely access all digital files stored on the TeraStation situated at home via an internet connection. The Network Attached Storage (NAS) device also comes with iTunes 7 support and a DLNA Mediaserver*.
The TeraStation Pro II is designed for small and medium sized businesses and home office users (SME/SOHO) that require a cost-effective, high-performance NAS device, which delivers superior performance and reliability. It supports Active Directory integration to allow the TeraStation Pro II to utilize domain users and groups by working as a client member in an Active Directory domain.
Both of Buffalos latest NAS devices deliver transfer rates of up to 35MB/s and feature five operating modes (i.e. Standard, RAID 0/1/5/10), ensuring security of valuable data. The advanced RAID features also allow for email warnings when there is a system fault, scheduled RAID checks and continuous monitoring of the file system.
Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the 4TB devices are available now at estimated street prices of Rs 97,000/- for the TeraStation Live and Rs 1,55,000/- for the TeraStation Pro II. Suppliers include Dabs, Insight, PC World Business, Misco, Amazon, broadbandbuyer.co.uk, broadbandstuff.co.uk and Play.com.
