NCR appoints Deepak Chandnani as statutory country manager and Managing Director of its Financial Solution Division for India

NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the world's leading provider of financial self-service solutions, has appointed Deepak Chandnani as statutory country manager and managing director of the company's Financial Solution division for India. Chandnani will oversee the strategic planning, business development, sales and marketing and manufacturing operations for the division.

"His extensive business experience in the Indian market will be invaluable to NCR as we manage this period of rapid growth for the company in India."

Last month, NCR announced a capital investment of approximately U.S.$6 million

(INR 30 Crores) for automated teller machine (ATM) manufacturing and software development. The company has started production of ATMs at its Pondicherry facilities and will begin production at its Bangalore facility by September 2003.

Chandnani joins NCR India from Yahoo India, where he was country head of Yahoo Web Services India Private Limited. Chandnani has previously worked with Citibank where he was business manager for Citibank Suvidha, Bangalore.

Chandnani has also worked at Hindustan Lever Limited where he played a key role in the sales and marketing functions. Capping his 12-year stint at Hindustan Lever, Chandnani was general manager of marketing for Pond's India Limited, Chennai.
