Nirula's, India's pioneering and most loved quick service restaurant chain, had a perfect gift for kids, this Children's Day - a museum dedicated to their favourite food - Ice cream!! Nirula's Ice Cream Museum was launched today at Noida by Nirula's CEO & MD, Samir Kuckreja. Located inside Nirula's Ice Cream Factory, this museum is the first of its kind in India, which provides visitors an entertaining mix of ice cream related facts, trivia and a piece of ice cream making action and games as well.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Samir Kuckreja, CEO and Managing Director, Nirula's Group said," Both ice creams and kids have a long lasting and intrinsic relationship with Nirula's. This Children's Day, we wanted to do something unique and ever lasting for our young patrons. And what better than their own ice cream museum, which not only indulges kids with their relished treat but also teaches them a lot more about history, cultures, traditions weaved in with the journey of the ice cream across different nations."

"We have also added features like ice cream recipes, poems, ice cream activities, fun games, etc to our museum. Incidentally, when we sent out invites for the museum launch, we received an equally enthusiastic response from adults as from kids." he added.

Guiding the kids through this Ice Cream wonderland was Nirula's Buddy, Nirula's friendly Children's mascot. The museum tour began with the journey of ice cream across the world; with some lesser-known, interesting and fascinating facts about the frozen treat. A walk through the picture gallery dedicated to Nirula's 21 Flavors followed this. The children recited Nirula's ice cream poem along with the Buddy, Nirula's mascot and learned about some fun facts related to Ice Creams.

The next stop was the mixing room where the children were shown the huge vats which process over thousands of liters of milk each day to convert into ice cream. This room also houses Nirula's flavor posters, which have been meticulously collected and preserved since the 70's. These topical visuals form an important part of the journey of Nirula's Ice Creams.

Following the milk pipes the children were led to the plant below, where the real magic unfolded. The children were allowed to mix flavours, add toppings, and fill up tubs of ice cream. All this while they were being explained the manufacturing and packaging processes of the 15,000 litres of fresh ice cream which Nirula's produces daily. A walk through the museum also gave the children a glimpse of large collections of butter churns, milk pails, cream separators, & other dairy plant equipment. Visitors also got a chance to peep into the cold room with its sub zero temperatures and ice cream treasures. The tour was concluded with ice cream songs & games!

On the occasion, Nirula's invited children from Khushii, as well as some school children to be a part of the Ice Cream Museums maiden trip. Nirula's also regularly sends Nirula's Buddy Truck, a truck loaded with ice cream, to distribute unlimited Ice Creams to the schools run by Khushii. Nirula's supports Khushii's Shikshantra project, and collects funds for the remedial schools in the slum areas of Sangam Vihar & Paharganj in Delhi. Knowing children's love for ice creams, Nirula's has been running Scholar's Award programme for years, which rewards all students scoring 90% and above with a free ice cream.

Nirula's ice creams were the first to receive the HACCP certificate in India. The ice creams at Nirula's are made of pure milk and are 100% vegetarian. Nirula's relationship with this delectable dessert dates back to 1970s. Nirula's ice cream parlour, introduced in 1970s, was one of India's first ice cream parlours chains, which made ice cream eating a ritual after dinners. With signature flavours like Delhi Delight, Manhattan Mania, 21 Love, Rum Raisin, Nutty Buddy and many more, the customers are hard pressed to choose a favourite. Nirula's Hot Chocolate Fudge, which evokes fond memories of school and college of all Delhites, is so popular that Nirula's loyalists have time and again suggested that they get it patented! Nirula's also has a tradition of launching a new flavour every month for ice cream lovers. In order to serve customers better and more conveniently Nirula's had also introduced Ice cream Kiosks, situated inside air-conditioned premises offering sundaes, shakes, sodas, coffee & tea, pastries etc.
