IHG expands south west asia team

IHG Asia Pacific has announced two key appointments for their South West Asia region. Lau Loo Lan is appointed as regional director of design and Ranjan Malakar as regional revenue manager. The additions to the growing South West Asia team are seen as a vital move to fortify the growing operations of IHG, especially in India.

Loo Lan has been working with IHG for almost 10 years and in various roles throughout Asia. Her most recent appointment was overseeing the establishment of new offices, enlargement and development of the IHG-Greater China Design & Engineering team based. Her shift to India is seen as a great career move, which will enable her to utilise skills gained and developed over the years to help IHG establish and develop a world-class design and engineering team in India.

Ranjan Malakar started his career in the hospitality industry almost 10 years ago and joined IHG in early 2003. He was most recently posted as the Area Revenue Manager for IHG in Malaysia

In his new role, Ranjan will be a key figure in the growth and expansion of IHG's key brands in South West Asia. He will oversee properties under three IHG brands, namely InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn.

Both the appointments are seen as strategic moves by the hospitality giant to consolidate its hold in this region and position the organisation fro future growth.
