Sahara to launch fantasy show Chandramukhi

The Sahara Group's general entertainment channel Sahara Manoranjan has plans to launch a fantasy show Chandramukhi. Produced by Kumarmangalam Birla's Applause Entertainment, the show is being directed by Sunil Agnihotri of Chandrakanta fame.

The storyline dwells on the life of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, who has a son who is destined to bring him suffering. Fortune-tellers forewarn the King that the child is unusual, and if he makes eye contact with the newborn infant, he will turn blind.

The King is compelled to banish the child, who is called Vanraj, and his mother from his kingdom. Vanraj is a werewolf, who loves the central character Chandramukhi.

The show, according to channel executives, will be a weekly to be telecast on Sundays.
