"Up for grabs are only 150 Limited Editions of Corsa Elite offering phenomenal value for money in a segment witnessing increasing competition with competing brands offering an array of product features. We expect an immensely enthusiastic response for this car", said Mr. Aditya Vij, President & Managing Director, and GM India. "The new variant will not only enthuse the prospective buyers but also enhance our market share in the Corsa segment. This will re-define the value-for-money proposition offering more for less in terms of features, price and affordability. The special edition launch is to keep enthusiasm among customers by injecting fresh blood into the portfolio. At GM India, we attach great importance to customer feedback and the launch of the Special Limited Edition Corsa Elite is yet another step in this direction", Mr. Vij added.

The Corsa is an ideal city car with unique "space share design" having excellent interior space that is amongst the roomiest in its class. The compact exteriors provide for low turning radius ensuring easy maneuverability while its powerful engine makes you stay ahead of the traffic with ease. "The limited edition will give us tremendous competitive edge over other players of the segment offering more for less in terms of features, price and affordability", said Mr. Vij.

The Opel Corsa is the first attempt by a major global manufacturer to use global concepts of design, manufacturing and purchasing to bring out a true world car. It is one of the largest selling models the world over and features the latest in German engineering and design specifically customised to suit Indian driving conditions. The Corsa has proved to be an ideal city car with unique "space share design" having excellent interior space that is amongst the roomiest in its class.

Commenting on the pricing of the new edition, Mr. Vij said "GM India has adopted a straddle pricing strategy long back to take on the competition through efficient benchmarking to increase appeal for all its models of cars". "Through extensive localization, we have also brought down the price to provide unmatched ownership experience at a low cost to our valued customers", Mr. Vij added.

GM India has sold 2418 cars in June as against 1082 units in the same month last year registering a growth of 124%. These included 804 units of Chevrolet Optra, 800 units of the recently launched new-generation premium multi-utility vehicle (MUV) Chevrolet Tavera and 786 units of Opel Corsa. The continuing growth in sales of GM in India is primarily due to the tremendous response to Chevrolet Optra and Opel Corsa models. The latest offering Chevrolet Tavera has received overwhelming response from buyers across the country and to meet the growing demand of Tavera and other vehicles, the company has started the third shift at its facility in Halol, Gujarat.

The new limited edition and our other models hold great promise for the uncompromising buyers. "By launching the Corsa 1.4 Elite with a new look, enriched with exclusive features and value additions, we sought to give our valued customers the opportunity to select the best in the segment", said Mr. Vij.

GM India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation. Besides the Chevrolet Tavera and Optra, GM India manufactures the Opel Corsa, Corsa Sail and Swing at its facility in Halol, Gujarat. GM India also sells the imported Opel Vectra in addition to the Chevrolet Forester.
