Meru, Mumbai’s premier radio taxi service completes one year of successful operations

V-Link Taxis, one of India’s largest radio taxi operators with operations in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bangalore has successfully completed one year in Mumbai.

Following the remarkable response that the Meru cabs have received from their customers in Mumbai right from its inception in April last year, V-Link Taxis felt the need to share their success with their drivers who have been instrumental in contributing to the overall success of the company and hosted a huge fair named ‘MERUTSAV’ in their honour.

‘MERUTSAV’ was celebrated in recognition of the efforts of the Meru drivers who have played a significant role in contributing to the remarkable success achieved by Meru in its first year of operations. The anniversary mela was celebrated by all employees of V-Link Taxis including all the drivers and their families who were invited to be a part of the Meru Family to celebrate its successful 1st anniversary. The mela was aimed at bringing enjoyment for the drivers who have been the soul of the company for the last one year.

At MERUTSAV, Mr Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director, V-Link Taxis said, “Successfully earning the trust and confidence of our clients through the year has been an enriching experience and it is through this confidence that we have been able to complete one year of operations in the country with such remarkable success. The increasing demand that we are witnessing in Mumbai is truly overwhelming and we are confident that with the help of our dedicated drivers, we will be able to fulfill all our commitments.”

He added, “We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our drivers who have been the soul of the company over the last year. It is through their dedication and perseverance that has allowed us to fulfill our customer requirements and helped build a strong foundation for growth. We believe that our drivers have made a difference to public transportation with Meru.”

The drivers were awarded for their consistent performances through out the year. A gathering addressed by the Managing Director Mr Neeraj Gupta of V-Link Taxis was held to thank them for significantly contributing to the successful accomplishments of the company. A few drivers who performed exceptionally were honoured with recognition awards. This will be a source of inspiration for the drivers to continue to contribute their best to the organisation.

V-Link Taxis first introduced its Meru cabs in Mumbai in April 2007 and soon became one of the most demanded forms of public transportation in the city. Following the tremendous response for this service in Mumbai, Meru has launched its services in Hyderabad, Delhi and Bangalore earlier this year making it one of India’s largest operators of radio cabs with a fleet of over 1600 cabs across these four metros. Meru also plans on scaling up its services further by expanding into Chennai, Kolkata and Pune.

V-Link Taxis arranged for a free health check-up for the family at the event, in view of the fact that money constraints may prevent drivers from doing a complete family health check-up. V-Link feels that all the drivers and their families should be well taken care of as they are considered to be a part of the Meru family.

There were other general sources of entertainment like Orchestra, Tarot Card Reading, to keep the crowd engrossed at the MERUTSAV fair. For the women’s interest, Mehndi, Nail Art, Khana Khazana and a Make over zone were set up. An information counter like the Banking zone was apprehended to educate the families about savings and other benefits. There were special Kiddies zones with Swings and slides, merry go rounds and jump buddies & cartoon Characters which kept the children occupied.

Making the event even more interesting was comedian Rajeev Nigam’s performance. Rajeev is runner up of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Also, singer and actor Aakash Singh performed live with the orchestra at the event.

Each member of the drivers’ family was deeply appreciative of this endeavour and will remember MERUTSAV for a long time. Such internal activities ensure that the company’s employees are happy and satisfied.

Despite the tough competition Meru cabs are picking up in Delhi and are aiming to achieve the same success that they have achieved in Mumbai. In Hyderabad and Bangalore, V-Link Taxis deployed its taxi services to the New International airports coming up in the city. The Meru taxi services in these cities also cater to the public transport and corporate sectors. V-Link Taxis announced their further expansion plans in Chennai, Kolkata and Pune at the MERUTSAV.
