Get close to the 2008 Formula One action in Singapore only with SOTC Sport Abroad from 20 Sep – 5 Oct 2008. The Singapore GP Season will showcase various Formula One -themed activities, entertainment events and lifestyle festivals as well as shopping and dining promotions, promising to get fans and visitors all revved up during the race period.

Formula One Singapore Grand Prix is the world’s very first night-race on the Formula One calendar. SOTC Sport Abroad in association with the Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Airlines has introduced various packages for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

The SOTC Sport Abroad packages are not only restricted to watching the race on the track but are much beyond this. Various premium lifestyle events and festivities will be hosted alongside the world-class 2008 Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. Making its debut is the Singapore River Festival (19 – 28 September), which will see the historic district dazzle with nightly festivities. Highlights of the Singapore River Festival include concerts on the river featuring international and local artistes, outdoor parties, a special exhibition on Vietnam's unique 2,500-year history which will also showcase rare arts treasures, food and beverage promotions and a float parade on the river, alongside party places such as Ministry of Sound at Clarke Quay, IndoChine Waterfront at Empress Place and home-grown dance icon Zouk.

In its inaugural race season, Singapore is one of just five Formula One race destinations selected to host the ultra exclusive Amber Lounge (27 – 28 September) party. This premium event is a veritable magnet for race drivers, team principals, team sponsors and international models and celebrities from the worlds of television, fashion, music and sport.

For a holistic Formula One experience, motorsports fans must make a visit to the Formula One – The Great Design Race (25 August – 2 October) at the National Museum of Singapore. This acclaimed exhibition from London’s Design Museum traces the technology and lesser-known engineering facts and secrets of the Formula One race machines over the sport’s 50-year history and unveils the design of the modern Formula One car in an exclusive exhibit.

Following the success of its first edition, the Singapore Biennale (11 September – 16 November) returns for a 10-week visual feast, featuring some of the world’s and Singapore’s frontrunners in contemporary paintings, installations, interactive electronic media and sculptures exhibited at unusual and significant venues around the city. Singapore’s largest international contemporary visual arts platform will also involve a new segment this year, known as the Boutique Show that is set to attract the world’s top art galleries and international art enthusiasts.

Luxury label Bulgari will present the Bulgari Watch Exhibition 2008 (18 – 28 September) at Paragon along Orchard Road. Producing finely crafted jewelled watches in platinum and diamonds since 1920, Bulgari will showcase more than 100 exquisitely crafted timepieces.

Jazz aficionados can look forward to an intimate evening at the Diana Krall Live in Concert (26 September 2008). For the ultimate experience, live it up with exclusive packages that include a cocktail party backstage and a post-concert party.

The Singapore Motorshow 2008 (26 September – 5 October) at Suntec Singapore has already established itself as a must-visit for every car enthusiast. Held once every two years, the Motorshow returns this year for yet another adrenaline-charged turn.
