Malaysia Airlines offers Tamil option at its call centre

Malaysia Airlines has introduced the Tamil language option for customers who transact with its call centre through the toll free Number 1-300-88-3000.

This new service is available between 0800 hours and 2100 hours on week days and from 0900 hours to 1800 hours on weekends.

Together with the existing Malay, English and Mandarin language options offered at its call centre, this fourth language option is yet another Customer Value Proposition (CVP) initiative of Malaysia Airlines to position itself as a five star value carrier in the country.

Malaysia Airlines' Senior General Manager (Network and Revenue Management), Dato' Bernard Francis said, "We have added this enhancement in response to the increasing number of Tamil speaking customers who patronize our flights. Through this latest language option, Tamil speaking customers are now able to better enjoy our 'Malaysian Hospitality' when transacting through our call centre".

"Response has been very encouraging and this facility is very ideal for the needs and requests of our Tamil speaking customers. When we introduced the Mandarin language option effective 21 April 2008, we assured that the Tamil language option would also be introduced within the next three months. We are pleased to inform that we have fulfilled our pledge to our customers, well within the three-month target,” he added.

This enhancement is currently available for all existing services available through Malaysia Airlines Call Centre, except those related to enrich customer feedback and mishandled baggage status.

Malaysia Airlines launched its Kuala Lumpur and Kuching Call Centres in November 2001 with the introduction of its 24-hours toll free reservations number 1-300-88-3000 which handles calls from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Apart from making bookings, customers can also make credit card payments through the call centres for their air ticket purchases.
