Farnell Electronics ramps up its presence across the country

Farnell Electronics, a part of the Premier Farnell group of companies, formally established its sales presence in Pune, as part of its phased rollout plan, post the launch of the company in June 2008. Farnell Electronics is a leading global distributor of electronic components, electrical parts, industrial and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products. Headquartered in Bangalore, the company has already established 7 other branch offices in cities including Bangalore, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai, and, plans to set up another branch in Kolkata. The company also plans to expand its footprint across the Tier II cities in terms of a small and home office (SOHO) presence.

With India being a key market for Farnell Electronics, the company has already invested Rs. 15 crore in the country and has plans to further invest in growing the business, increasing its headcount and setting up an innovation lab as well as a bonded/tax paid warehouse, to ensure that products are delivered to the customers on the same or next day if stocked in the India warehouse. Targeting the electronic design engineers (EDE) and SMBs across the country, in verticals including Infrastructure, Transportation, Medical, Electronics, Automotive, Shipping, Electronics Manufacturing services and education, the company is focusing on utilizing the web as an integral part of their multi-channel distribution strategy.
