IFFCO TOKIO launches Micro Insurance month

As the New Year begins, IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Co. Ltd. (ITGI), a trusted player in general insurance, has taken an initiative of dedicating each month of every year going forward to different aspects of insurance. With a view to give an impetus to the largely unexplored domain in the country - micro insurance, the first two months of this New Year will be celebrated as MICRO INSURANCE months. The objective of this initiative is to motivate the Micro insurance agents and to create awareness amongst the masses about various micro insurance products.

The campaign is divided into two phases. Phase one which started from 1st January and will go on till 31st January, includes the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Phase two is starting from 1st February until 28th February, and will cover the States of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

IFFCO-TOKIO has been at the forefront of bringing the benefits of insurance to all through its specially designed products catering to the needs of the masses. Micro Insurance month will be targeted towards generating awareness about products like IFFCO – TOKIO’s Janata bima Yojana, Mahila Suraksha Yojana, Jan Swastha Bima and Jan Kalyan Bima.

To ensure the success of the Campaign, IFFCO TOKIO is initiating the following activities:

* Training to Bima sahayaks and others invloved in micro insurance on products and marketing

* Training to new agents and refresher to old agents and allocating target to agents and R & R scheme for top performing agents and Bima Sahayaks.

* Grass root campaign at village level for marketing of IFFCO – TOKIO’s products

* Door to door marketing with agents for awareness and sale

* Concentrate and focus on low earning small societies like milk producers societies, Mahila mandal societies, Labour societies and other cooperative societies

* Focus on self help groups working under IFFCO foundation, village panchayats, youth welfare clubs and micro financial institutions

IFFCO Tokio General Insurance has been known for its unique rural-market focused initiatives. The company has been serving the farming community, since 2001, when it launched its specially designed personal accident policy linked with purchase of fertilizer, named “Sankat Haran” under the slogan Khaad to Khaad Bima Saath. Till date 7855 claims amounting to Rs 46.28 Crores have been settled across 17 states.

In its commitment towards better customer service IFFCO Tokio General Insurance has been rated No. 1 in Motor Insurance Customer Satisfaction and No. 2 in Home Insurance by an independent agency Consumer Voice. In addition, Maruti Suzuki has awarded IFFCO-Tokio as The best service provider.
