Dabur cracks down on fake Dabur Lal Tail label makers

Moving forward on Dabur India Ltd’s initiatives to curb the menace of counterfeit products hitting the market, a Ghaziabad-based printing press involved in the printing of spurious Dabur Lal Tail labels has been raided. The raid was conducted by officials of Ghaziabad Police, which led to the arrest of accused Jitender Sharma and Sanjay.

Around 6,270 fake front and back labels have been recovered and seized during this raid conducted on Sharma Printing Press, 1 G.T. Road, Rakesh Marg, Ghaziabad. Besides, the printing machine used by the accused has also been seized.

Dabur India, in association with local authorities, has been targeting such counterfeit product manufacturers and label producers across the country. Through its initiatives, raids have been conducted across the country and spurious goods worth over Rs 100 lakhs have been seized.

A Dabur India Ltd spokesperson said the Company has mapped out the locations where these activities take place and is going after the spurious and fake product manufacturers in a planned manner.

Efforts by Corporates and raids of such magnitude are an attempt to tackle the problem of counterfeit products entering the Indian market. The spurious products, besides endangering the lives of people who use them, also cause an annual loss of approximately Rs 30,000 crore to the industry and Rs 15,000 crore to the Government exchequer. The Indian FMCG sector alone has been facing losses of around Rs 5,000 crore annually due to such malpractices.
