With the launch of this service, finding your destination is right at your finger tips – just a phone call away! Now, if you need directions to get to your meeting or when visiting a friend or you need travel from one city to another or you need to find the nearest ATM/bank or even when lost, you don’t have to stop ten times and roll down your window to ask passers by nor do you have to pick up strangers to be guided to your destination. When you call in, a live agent will ask you for your details and will guide you live or will send you an SMS with distances and road names along with landmarks ensuring that SatGuide navigation will accompany you to your destination.

LCU is an integrated solution to the outdated yellow pages and directory services. GPS is an upcoming phenomenon in India and not all the strata of society are able to access this service which is still considered a luxury in India. To break this perceived barrier, SatNav Technologies has introduced a prepaid voucher scheme with toll free calling accessibility by dialing 1 800 103 5656 and all phone users from any telecom provider will be connected to a live trained agent. To avail the service, the customer will just have to purchase vouchers worth Rs 100 which contains 15 minutes of talk time from SatGuide website, to register with the service. In addition, the vouchers will be made available through their retail partners like E-Zone, Croma, Staples, Reliance AutoZone, among others all over the country in a phased manner.

Reliance customers can call 56694 404 exclusively to use this service. ‘Reliance Communications was the first operator to provide this service. Following the successful completion of the pilot project in Andhra Pradesh on Reliance Communications network, the service is being launched nation-wide. The primary aim of LCU is to provide easy navigation and educate the people of the availability of resources within their own vicinity. On reaching the live agent on the 1800-103-5656 number, users can give them their current location and final destinations. The route is then picked up on the map and the directions are sent to the customer in the form of an SMS. This is to ensure that customers get a clear idea of the directions that they are to travel in. The service is made available from 6:30am - 11:30pm throughout the week. The agents who provide directions are multilingual and can assist the customers in English and Hindi. The application for LCU and the maps have been built in-house, the product is patented by SatNav.

These maps have detailed street level roads of 200+ cities and have more than 15 lakh destinations (Points-of-interest) mapped with LCU; everybody with a phone has now access to this rich database.
