Joshua Upputuru joins Nomad Films as producer

After having spent eight years working in advertising agencies, Joshua Upputuru has joined Nomad Films India as producer.

In his last role, Upputuru was the account director at Ogilvy, Mumbai. He began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi, New Delhi and has thereafter worked with Ogilvy, New Delhi and Bengaluru, Contract Advertising before joining Ogilvy, Mumbai.

He has worked on brands such as Hyundai, Fanta, Seagrams, Motorola, HSBC, Tata Motors and Lenovo worldwide.

Before joining advertising, Upputuru, a qualified software developer ran his own event management company.

“I come from a family that is totally into advertising and more often than not dinner table conversations seem like boardroom discussions. Film making has always been a passion with me. And while I am joining Nomad Films as a producer, I am looking forward to direct commercials soon,” he says.

Upputuru will be working with Amitabh Bhattacharya, executive producer, Nomad Films India.

"I see the business of production houses still rudimentary. In most commercials, production houses get little credit. After quitting McCann Erickson, Bengaluru, I started Nomad Films and wanted to get more agency guys who could give accountability to the business. I only wanted to work with new directors. We are glad to have Joshua on board who will help to understand client needs better," says Bhattacharya.

Talking about Nomad’s plans for the future, Bhattacharya says that the production house is planning to get into new media and technical development to help agencies execute ideas better.
