Samsung Electronics, the leading mobile phone provider, today announced the launch of Metro 3G - its new, stylish Metro phone with an all new metallic exterior offering 3G Connectivity. With the launch of this new mobile, Samsung has five, feature rich Metro Series of mobiles in its line up.
Announcing the launch Mr. Ranjit Yadav, Director IT & Telecom, Samsung Electronics stated: "Metro 3G is the first phone in the Metro series that offers 3G connectivity and access to SNS and IM features. This stylish phone also scores on account of its enhanced multimedia features." While the phone’s metallic exterior gives it a premium look , the metallic decorations around the camera lens, navigation key and the battery cover add to the overall style of the phone .It has a curved, ergonomic design and is only 11.9mm thick.
The Metro 3G offers users easy access to 9 social networking sites - Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Picassa, Friendster, Photobucket etc. With the 3G (HSDPA) network, which is again a first in the Metro series and with SNS shortcut toolbar on the home screen, users can easily upload photos, send messages and stay in touch with their peers in the online space. Metro 3G also comes equipped with a chat messenger and supports GTalk, AIM and Palringo chat.
The advanced multi-media features of the phone include - a realistic 3D sound experience, 3.2 Megapixel camera with Smile shot and Panorama shot technology and Bluetooth 2.1 which offers wireless connectivity to headsets, printers as well as mobile and PC devices. The phone also offers ample storage space for all multimedia content with 105MB internal memory and a microSD support up to 16GB. Further Metro 3G is also the first phone in the Metro series with that offers 9 regional languages support.
The phone comes preloaded with Google applications and allows users to open and read rich text documents and comes equipped with a mobile tracker. The Metro 3G is priced at Rs. 8250/- .With the launch of Metro 3G, Samsung Metro Series portfolio of 5 handsets is now available in the price range between Rs.6299/- to Rs. 8250/-.
