Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), the fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan and the market leader in the premium air-conditioning market in India today announced the appointment of Mr. Kanwal Jeet Jawa as its Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Jawa will be responsible for the overall business operations of Daikin India. Mr. Jawa is a veteran in the air conditioning business with over 29 years of experience that incorporates establishing leading air-conditioning brands and further creating value simultaneously for the brand and the customers alike.
Announcing Mr. Jawa'a appointment, Mr Toshiki Hayashi, Managing Director, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. said, "Daikin India is committed to continually strengthen its resource base to further achieve its overall business objectives. Mr. Kanwal Jeet Jawa joins Daikin India from Uniflair India, a part of Uniflair SpA, an Italian MNC where he successfully established their manufacturing unit and develop their supply chain and distribution channel. He started his career at Carrier India and during his 14 year stay, he founded Carrier Aircon India and was instrumental in establishing Carrier as the no. 1 brand in across all segments.
Post Carrier, Mr. Jawa spent a fruitful 9 years during which he manoeuvred its complete turnaround to establish Voltas as the no. 2 brand in the Indian air-conditioning market. In a span of 5 years, he managed to increase the share of Voltas by over 10%. This success made Superbrands recognize Voltas as one of the most admired brands in 2006.
