Discover The World Travel Marketing has been appointed as the Sales and Support partner for the Expedia TAAP in India. Discover have a highly successful representation reputation in the Indian Travel Market headed by Mr. Mark Mendes since 2005. Discover will manage the day to day operation of the program including first level agent support and marketing.
"Travel Agents love this program because they can earn revenue selling highly competitive rates and inventory otherwise not available to the Retail Trade" said Stuart Udy, Expedia Manager of Travel Agent Distribution Asia Pacific.
"For us Discover is a perfect choice to represent the TAAP in India for a number of reasons. They are strong in many international markets with great representation experience but most importantly, Discover have a very strong customer service and support culture which is paramount in us choosing a service partner."
"This is a great opportunity for us and a perfect product for Discover to represent" said Mr. Mark Mendes, Director India for Discover the World Marketing. "Expedia has such a massive offering of inventory and rates, it's no wonder Travel Agents find it so appealing. We are really looking forward to working with Expedia and our Travel Agent partners."
Agent sign up is very simple, just go to www.expediaccess.com/in and fill in the application under "Become a Member" or go to www.expedia.co.in and click on Travel Agents Affiliate button.
The Expedia, Discover working partnership follows similar strategies in Europe and the Pacific with Discover representing the TAAP program in France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Other markets are also being discussed in relation to future launch plans in the coming months.
Originally launched in Italy in 2002, the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program expanded through Europe, North America and Pacific with over 8500 Travel Agency members currently enlisted. "We are very confident and excited to be launching TAAP in India" said Mr. Udy. "We understand that many consumers prefer to book through traditional travel agents and that travel agents have not had access to many of the products at rate structures Expedia is able to offer. TAAP provides the perfect way for us to partner with Travel Agent's and provide highly competitive services to Agency customers."
Prices and products shown on the agency's booking will be identical to those shown on the consumer site allowing the agent to compete directly with an online price and still earn a commission. Once the agent is registered, commission is earned on processed bookings regardless of whether the consumer credit card is used or the agencies card is used to process the transaction.
To become a member of the program, travel agents will register online at Expedia.co.in. As a TAAP member, agents will have direct access to Expedia's global inventory and can use the search engine to check the availability of flights, hotel rooms and more, to make bookings in real time. Affiliates will benefit from fast and simple site functionality, enabling them to research, plan and book the best possible trips for their clients using Expedia.
