Glenmark, the leading research driven, global, integrated pharmaceutical company organized a rally to create awareness on World Heart Day on Sunday, September 26, 2010. The rally was flagged off in 10 other cities across the country on the same day.
The doctors' rally started and ended at Bharati Raja Hospital, T. Nagar, Chennai and was attended by over 50 doctors, patients and others. The event was followed by a Patient Education Seminar, addressed by a doctor and then followed by a health check up camp.
The rally included awareness sessions on dos and don'ts of hypertension, steps to take care of the heart, Balanced diet and other important information related to Hypertension & Diabetes. The health check-up camp offered free check-up for Hypertension & Diabetes, apart from Microalbuminuria test on high risk patients. The detected patients were given starter sample packs like Telma/ Telma H/ Telma AM along with a patient education leaflet.
K. Manoj Kumar, Intervention Cardio, spoke on the preventive measures that could be taken to prevent hypertension. He created awareness on the importance of exercising and staying fit in order to have a healthy heart.
This activity is initiated by Zoltan - the cardiology division of Glenmark.
