Samsung strengthens its AC product portfolio in India

Digital technology leader, Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of its new, advanced 2011 range of Split ACs in the Indian market across the 'Invincia' and 'Purista' series of Airconditioners. While the Invincia series comes with Smart Inverter technology that saves upto 60% energy when the AC is on, the Purista Plus Series of Samsung ACs comes with breakthrough innovation like Virus DoctorTM that eliminates bacteria , fungi and even viruses like H1N1 in the air .The S -Purista range of Samsung ACs offers stabilizer free operations in addition to offering all the other differentiated features of the 'Purista Series' including Full HD Filter ; Turbo Cooling and S-UTR Plus Compressor that allows the ACs to work at temperatures as high as 54 degrees . In fact the entire 2011 Samsung Split AC lineup comes with the Full High Density Filter that offers improved filtration by removing even the smallest microscopic dust particles and transforming polluted air into clean energized air.

Announcing the launch of the Samsung 2011 Airconditioner range , stated Mr R Zutshi , Dy. MD , Samsung India, "Samsung is committed to the consumers well being and comfort. To combat the harmful air contaminants in the air that we breathe, we have launched the Purista Plus series of Airconditioners that have the Virus Doctor with SPI technology that eliminates harmful airborne substances such as bacteria , fungi and viruses like H1N1.This outstanding air purification device improves the indoor air quality to provide a more comfortable and healthier environment ." VirusDoctorTM with SPI (S-Plasma ion) technology can eliminate more than 99% of harmful micro organisms including SARS and H1N1 to guarantee contamination-free indoor air. SPI technology has been proven as the most effective purification technology, as it generates activated hydrogen and oxygen ions which transform toxins from the air into harmless water vapour while covering a larger area compared to other technologies.

Incorporated with UTRTM Compressors, Samsung ACs provide incredibly powerful performance that quickly brings greater comfort even in severely hot weather. The motor of the compressor has been strengthened to provide stable operation even in extremely low voltage. With this powerful motor, the compressor can provide reliable performance in extremely low voltages or at 54 degrees Celsius without an external stabilizer.

Another first by Samsung for India is the lineup of Airconditioners with built in stabilizer that improves the look of your home and can handle voltage fluctuations from 135V to 290V. The Samsung Smart Inverter technology in the Invincia range saves upto 60% when the AC is on , also it consumes almost zero standby power when the AC is off . " Based on our new , health friendly and energy efficient range of Samsung Airconditioners , our differentiated service offers and our innovative marketing campaigns , we are expecting to achieve 35-40% growth in our Split Airconditioner sales in the year 2011. We expect our Split AC sales to contribute around 80% of our total Airconditioner volumes this year." states Mr Zutshi.

Samsung has launched 14 new Split AC models and 4 new Window AC models this year , with more that 80% of the models being rated 3 Star plus . The Samsung Air conditioner range consists of 27 Split AC models across the Invincia , Purista , Crystal and Max series and 6 models across the Z series and K series . While the Samsung Split ACs are priced in the range between Rs 22,540/- to Rs 49,420 (available in 1.0T,1.5T and 2.0T capacities) ; the Samsung Window ACs are priced in the range between Rs 20,400/- to Rs 26,210/-.(available in 1.0T, 1.5T and 2.0T capacities.)
