Today, Bose has introduced the new Lifestyle 235 home entertainment system, the most advanced 2.1 system from Bose. Several Bose proprietary technologies are combined to bring movies, TV shows, sports, video games, and music to life -- with sound that is wide, deep and enveloping. The system also features Bose Unify™ intelligent integration technology for easier system set-up and use.
The Lifestyle 235 system features new Gemstone ES speaker arrays -- the best-performing 2.1 arrays from Bose. Each array includes three drivers -- two facing forward and one positioned to the side. Together with Bose TrueSpace digital signal processing, these new arrays create a broader and more precise soundstage. A hideaway Acoustimass Module -- also used in the Bose Lifestyle 5.1 home theater systems -- delivers powerful, low-note performance.
To ensure optimum performance for each owner, the Lifestyle 235 system features ADAPTiQ audio calibration technology -- a proprietary Bose technology that analyzes and adjusts the system's sound for the size, shape and furnishings of the room. The Lifestyle 235 system is the first Bose 2.1 home theater system to offer ADAPTiQ technology, offering more flexibility in speaker placement without compromising the listening experience.
Unify™ intelligent integration technology makes connecting entertainment sources effectively mistake-proof. Easy-to-follow steps are shown on the TV screen, even showing pictures of the appropriate connector. The Lifestyle system console recommends the right cable to use, has smart inputs that sense when a connection is made, and even provides confirmation to the user when the connection is successful.
The Lifestyle remote can be programmed to control virtually any entertainment device, including Blu-ray disc™ players, cable boxes, Digital Media Adapters, and new devices as they become available. Unlike conventional remote programming methods, there is no trial and error, or codes to enter. Simply aim a source remote at the Lifestyle system's console and follow the on-screen instructions. Then, press a few buttons on the source remote, and the Unify™ system programs the Lifestyle remote to operate the entertainment source.
Once the system is set up, only the connected entertainment sources are listed on-screen, using names like "Blu-ray player" or "Cable Box," rather than cryptic acronyms like "HDMI 1" or "COMPONENT 1". The Lifestyle remote's interface controls the most frequently used commands, such as "source" or "volume," while rarely used commands can be accessed on-screen.
The Lifestyle 235 system includes a built-in AM/FM tuner and dock for iPod or iPhone. Using Bose link, other Bose speakers and systems can be connected to the Lifestyle 235 system, establishing it as a hub to enjoy music throughout the home -- even outdoors. The system is also designed to grow with an owner's needs, accommodating up to six HD sources, and providing automatic video upscaling for the highest resolution a TV can accept, including 1080p over HDMI.
