'Walk with the Angel' this Mother's Day

Save the Children, one of the leading child rights organizations in the world in association with The White Ribbon Alliance is organizing an event titled "Walk with the Angel" this Mother's Day. In this joint initiative India's most influential mothers from all walks of life are coming together to support the cause for reducing maternal, newborn and child mortality in India and driving India towards the achievement of MDG4 and MDG5.

Eminent personalities at the event include - Dr. Najma Heptullah (Member Rajya Sabha), Feroze Gujral (Model and Media personality) Lushin Dubey (Theatre Actor and Director), Vani Tripathi (Youth Leader, BJP) , Sagarika Ghose (Media personality and Author Ms. Ramola Bachchan (entrepreneur), Ms Ramneek Paintal (Model and VJ), Ms. Jaishree Misra (Author), Ms. Poonam Bhagat (Designer) , Ms. Vandana Luthra (entrepreneur) , Ms.Namrata Joshipura (Designer), Ms.Devi Cherian (Columnist), Padmashree Ms. Shovana Narayan (Kathak Dancer) - will echo a joint call for heath workers within the reach of every mother and every child.

Save the Children and White Ribbon Alliance will also release a Report Card on the state of Mothers and Children in our country and also announce the instituting of award for health workers. Ms Shanti Terassa Lakra, an Auxiliary Midwife and Nurse (ANM) also a Padmashree awardee will be felicitated at the event for her services to mothers and babies.
