With this realization of safeguarding the environment for future generations, Netaji Subhash Institute of Management Sciences (NIMS), a premiere business management Institute of the country located at Pitampura, New Delhi organized an awareness program by means of a panel discussion on "Power of Green Ideas" organized a Panel Discussion on at their campus with this realization of safeguarding the environment for our future generations.

The main idea behind this discussion was to generate awareness amongst the young generation about the conservation of ecological issues and prepare them for a brighter future. This awareness will prove helpful in further activities and will be supported by more members to bring about a change in the current situation.

Many prominent personalities like Dr. Sunil Gupta; CIO & Head of ICT, Economic Research Unit, Ministry of Steel, Dr. A.K. Puri, Director General, ITS Ghaziabad, Dr. V. K. Seth, Professor, FMS, Mr. Ravinder Singh Minhas, Sr. Manager, Traffic and Publicity participated in the session and the main emphasis was on raising and implementing the right kind of practices which can contribute to the betterment of the prevailing situation. This step has been taken a B –school to educate the future managers of the corporate world and create awareness among the students to join hands in making the world a better place to live for the coming generation.

During the occasion, Dr A. K. Puri, Director General, ITS Ghaziabad said, "Environmental issues can be raised and implemented within an organization more by acceptance than by compulsion." He shared some relevant examples from within the industry which confirm that innovation for environmental concerns can be made in the value chain itself and at the same time the consumers can be involved and made aware of the efforts of the organization on "Going Green."

Dr D.K. Batra, Director, Netaji Subhash Institute of Management Sciences (NIMS) in his welcome speech emphasized on maintaining a balance in life by doing our bit for the mother earth. He invited all the panel members to join hands for the cause of the environment and contribute by imparting more relevant to environment education to our future managers of the corporate world.

Prof. Vivek Kumar was the moderator for the first session of the discussion which brought forth inputs on how businesses worldwide are adopting and strategizing green marketing concepts and what role can the government and now business schools can play in making the world a greener place to live.

Dr. K. L. Chawla moderated the second round of the discussion and on inputs from various panelists concluded that whatever environment friendly technology is developed, it should be sustainable for long time and should be available in abundance.

Dr. D. D. Chaturvedi, associate professor of Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, DU focused on green technology and environment technology. He suggested we should put the best use of waste management and supported his thoughts with Sanskrit slokas which meant that darkness should be removed and knowledge, information should be imparted. We should go on preceding the correct path by taking an appropriate action and plan.

The brainstorming panel discussion along with participation from students and faculty succinctly concluded that the awareness amongst the people and individual initiative should be supported by policy which has to be promoted by a mass campaign. All present in the panel congratulated NIMS for this sensitizing initiative and agreed to join hands for a campaign and recommend the right policy to safeguard the environment.
