India's swimming sensation and GoSports Foundation Scholar Virdhawal Khade has become the latest Indian swimmer to qualify for London 2012 post meeting the requirements for the 100m Freestyle event at the 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai. Clocking 50.34s in the event, he will be joining his compatriot Sandeep Sejwal who earlier qualified for the 100m Breaststroke event.

Following their phenomenal performances at the World Championships, Khade and Sejwal, now continue to be part of the Top 150 list, where Viru is ranked 122 in the 50m Butterfly event while Sandeep is at 128 in the 100m Breaststroke event.

Expressing his joy at the boys' achievements and their second appearance at the Olympics by qualifying for London 2012, GoSports Foundation trustee and former Olympian Hakimudin S Habibula says, "This is a historic moment for India as for the first time Indian swimmers have qualified for consecutive Olympic events. Their achievement is also a testament to the strong support systems that are made available to the boys, such as the support and encouragement we provide from the GoSports Foundation."

GoSports Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Bangalore that helps aspiring and talented athletes to achieve their dreams by providing crucial financial and non-financial support. Viru and Sandeep now join fellow GoSports Foundation Scholar Sharath Gayakwad who had earlier qualified for the London Paralympics 2012 in the 100m Breaststroke event.
