Among graduates, Infosys and Wipro have topped the chart of preferred companies with over 29% and 26% students opting for the same as their favoured employer. IBM takes the third slot while TCS is ranked at the 5th position. In case of engineering students, over 35% of them ranked IBM as their most preferred employer. Infosys and TCS share the second position followed by Accenture.

Commenting on the findings of the survey Deepali Singh, Business Head, Firstnaukri.com said “It is interesting to note that students hardly have any information about career opportunities or work culture in organisations. This is the reason students rely heavily on feedback from seniors and friends. Organisations need to spread awareness about the same so that students can make well informed decisions during their campus placements”.

Biggest influencers:

The survey also queried students on what basis do they decide to appear for a company during placements. Most respondents ranked Brand Image of the company as their first choice. Growth prospect in the company was the next preferred option followed by job profile of the company.

When the students were questioned on who is the zbiggest influencer during campus interviews, 35% respondents said seniors. Approximately 22% of them said parents and 19% opted for batch mates.

Methodology: The Firstnaukri.com employer preference survey was sent out to the registered jobseekers of firstnaukri.com. This is an e-mail survey and the results are compiled using statistical and analytical techniques.
