Hailed by a leading business news magazine as the 'Paulo Coelho of the East', Amish, author of the No.1 national bestseller, The Immortals of Meluha, has now released his much anticipated book 2 of the Shiva Trilogy - The Secret of the Nagas.

Being launched with a massive initial print run of 100,000, The Secret of the Nagas is one of the rare books that has catapulted into the bestseller lists of Neilson Bookscan, Flipkart and Infibeam, even before it's publication! This has happened on the basis of pre bookings alone. 80,000 of the first print run of 100,000 copies have already been sold to retailers.

Positively surprised by the immense sales, Westland has ordered a reprint of The Secret of the Nagas even before release.

The Secret of the Nagas follows the massive success of it's prequel, The Immortals of Meluha (Book 1 of the Shiva Trilogy). Released in March, 2010, The Immortals of Meluha continues to dominate the national bestseller lists and is currently No.1 on the Neilson Bookscan, which represents 40% of the total book publishing industry's sales. Currently, The Immortals of Meluha is at a print run of 175,000. Therefore, counting the reprint quantity of The Secret of the Nagas, the Shiva Trilogy is at a print run of over 300,000 within just a year and five months of launch.

'These are almost unprecedented sales numbers in Indian publishing,' said Mr. Gautam Padmanabhan - Chief Executive Officer, Westland Limited. 'It clearly shows that the Shiva Trilogy has touched a chord in the hearts of Indian readers. We are proud to be the publishers of Amish's path breaking take on Indian mythology and spirituality.'

The Shiva Trilogy, (comprising The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras) is a compelling tale of a Tibetan tribal called Shiva, who's adventures nearly 4000 years ago, morphed into the mythical legends of the Hindu God Shiva. Through this fictional adventure series, Amish hopes to convey the philosophies and the spiritual messages of Lord Shiva.
