Starbugs Records is an independent Record Company that is a wholly owned subsidy of India-American Group (IAG), a California Corporation. Starbugs Records is created by Indian Americans, Dilip Sontakey and his partner Ed Melik. Both have been successful businessmen but always loved music and films that resulted the creation of Starbugs.

Unique aspects of the Starbugs is that it is a one-stop, do-all indie label that scouts talent worldwide, develops them to become commercially viable entities, market and promote their creative products. Unlike the major labels who are now in a "survival mode" and have no more funds left to develop any artists, Starbugs is financially independent and strong to find and develop new talent and to provide them a platform that is very hard to find in this day and age considering today's economical uncertainties.

Starbugs has laid out a complete marketing and promotional strategies in collaborations with America's top organizations that specialize in creating tomorrow's popular stars of music and films. Dilip is the CEO and makes the general business policies, executes them and has a hands-on approach to all aspects of Starbugs Records and IAG operations. Jaya on the other hand, is mostly involved in talent selection, contributes in talent's development activities, contributes in creative and artistic activities of such artists and of course, helps Dilip in other areas where he needs her advice and opinions. Jaya plays an integral role in overall artistic development and selection of material. They are the first independent music label whose launching talent hunt in India and his winner will be given an opportunity to work with American music industry
