Company Brief

Mumbai, September 28, 2011

For the first time ever, travel company The Wanderers is holding the 'Be the Wanderer' contest to encourage people to break away from the monotony of routine and discover offbeat places in India. The contest which begins on October 1, 2011 is India's first online travel contest to sponsor an all-expenses paid 10-day trip across India, in comfort and style, for a team of two winners. The team will share their experience during the trip, real-time, through blogs, photos, videos and updates on social networking and sharing sites.

To enter, contestants have to team up with a friend, create their India travel wish-list, and tell the company why they deserve to be chosen through an entry form on www.facebook.com/thewanderers. Last date for entries is October 15, 2011.

Ten teams will be shortlisted on the basis of their entries, by a jury of travel writers and photographers. From these, five teams will be selected depending on the number of votes they receive from the audience. The final winning team will be selected by the jury and awarded the all-expenses paid trip.

Today's fast-paced, stressful work life leaves most people with little time and energy to pursue their travel wish-list. Travel is limited to business trips as annual vacations become rare.

Abhik Dutta, Director and co-founder of The Wanderers, says offbeat India has many exotic places and activities to offer. This contest will help people rediscover their love for travel, as they follow the winners exploring offbeat places in India.

“Travelling by the wish-list or Wanderlist as we call it, is something we firmly believe in. The winners will get to go on a journey of discovery comprising their Wanderlist and broaden their horizons as they take in unique experiences.”

The contest will be marketed via online and print. Online it will have presence on The Wanderers Facebook Page www.facebook.com/thewanderers through an application, Twitter, and blog. Emailers will also be sent be sent to the target audience.

In print, the Lonely Planet Magazine India will feature the contest in its Travel Well section in its October issue to publicize the call for entries. The contest will also feature on their website www.travelwell.in

The contest is open to all residents of India, above the age of 21 years.

Be the Wanderers is created and managed by The Wanderers.
