Leeds met India, Bhopal in association with Confederation of Indian Industries, Madhya Pradesh had organized National HR Summit at Leeds met India, Bhopal campus.

Topic of the summit was ‘Emerging trends in HR’. A number of venerated speakers from the field of human resources (HR) shared their views upon the current practices. The summit provided a platform to students and faculty of Leeds Met India to interact with key speakers from HR Industry.

Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta, Chairman, JSWS, Said, “We believe that a confluence of the best minds from the industry and the academia is essential to bring the future HR challenges in focus. Human Resource Management is very challenging. Therefore, we need to provide such platforms on a continuous basis, as it would help in managing the complexities that govern human behavior in an organisation.”

Three plenary sessions and a panel discussion on topics like Aligning HR with Business Strategy, Impact to social network on Talent Management, Present and Future role of HR in large and medium sized enterprises took place in the summit.

Mr. Subash Vithaldas, Former Chairman- CII said “People build organization and organizations acquire excellence through committed Human Resource Development. The role of HR in today’s corporate environment has become more critical due to increased productivity compulsion which our industry is facing to compete in the globalised market” he added.

Mr. S. R. Singhvi, Joint Vice President (HR) - Shree Cement said “ Always eager to learn and give your hundred percent and dedication to your profession. This will not only make you happy but would also make them happy and ultimately you would develop yourself and the organization” he stressed.

The summit highlighted HR’s capability to assume new roles and increase the level of new competencies of HR professionals.

Dr. (Prof.) Rakesh Premi, Campus Director- Leeds met India, said “Intellectual, social and emotional capital together constitutes ‘human capital’ which will be the key differentiator compete in future”

Corporate delegates from various organisations, faculty and students of Leeds Met India participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The National HR summit was an important stepping stone for students. The summit provided an insight on how they should go about planning their careers.
