Chivas Studio, the haute luxe, creative platform is back with an uber cool and exemplary repertoire of artists for its 2011 edition, this November-December in Delhi and Mumbai. CHIVAS brings together doyens from diverse fields to create unique works of art and captivating acts; which not only transcend the limits of their individual fields but create unique sensory experiences for the Indian audience.

Starting this weekend in Delhi at VISTA, 2011 edition of Chivas Studio will showcase a mesmerising collaboration between Rohan Sippy, an exemplary film maker with Ranjit Barot, a globally renowned musician, fashion designer duo...Abraham & Thakore for the Fashion Broadway. Paresh Maity and Jatin Kampal will create the Art Foyer and Brian Olsen, the live art maestro will collaborate with Mrigya, a renowned Indian fusion band for Art Jam.

Combining the musical story telling tradition of Broadway and giving it a stylish twist, Rohan Sippy conceives and directs the story of love set in the backdrops of all that is very 60’s. He collaborates with the multi-faced Ranjit Barot and David Abraham & Rakesh Thakore, the internationally acclaimed fashion designers to capture the style and musical soul of the period.

Rohan is ecstatic about directing the musical, which is a key highlight of the Chivas Studio 2011. “Directing a live musical is new to me; moreover, it is something that hasn’t been tried before by anyone in India. That makes the experience a challenging one,” he says. “Like any Broadway musical, this one will have songs, dance and glamour. This is a love story set against a ’60s backdrop; so get ready to revisit the golden era”, he adds. The cast boasts of actors such as Shahana Goswami (as the seductress), Ali Fazal (of Always Kabhi Kabhi fame, as the small town guy) and Rahul Dev (as the gangster). Shahana, for one, is very excited about her glam avatar. “I have always played non-glamourous roles, so this should be fun,” she says.

Chivas Studio is the only and the first ever eclectic amalgamation of fashion, art, mixology, cinema, music, gourmet food, rendering a unique experience that seamlessly integrates art and luxury through its collaborative concept.
