The multi award-winning Ananda in the Himalayas, has once again consolidated its global leadership position, this time by being voted as ‘Number One Spa in the World' at the Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Spa Awards 2012, held in London.
Adding to the glory, the readers also voted Ananda as a winner in the ‘Best Overseas Spa Retreat' category at the 10th annual awards. Thousands of readers, globally, voted for their favorite spa last October. Winners were divided into categories from day spas to retreats. The overall favourite ‘Ananda in the Himalayas', was awarded top marks for its ambience and design, its body treatments and individual approach.

The award was accepted by Malti Kapur, Ananda's first ever guest on behalf of Ananda in the Himalayas. Ananda has previously been voted number one in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers Spa Awards ‘Spa Retreats' category in 2005 and runner up in 2006, 2007 and 2008. It was voted number 1 in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers Travel Awards ‘Best Destination' category in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and runner up in 2010.
In 2005, Conde Nast Traveler rated Ananda as the 'Best Overseas Spa Retreat' with a score rating of 99.62 and the Readers choice world's Number 1 destination spa (2005, 2006, and 2007). It is also the only spa in India to be awarded the 5-wave certificate by BISA (British International Spa Association).
Ananda in the Himalayas has also bagged an additional award by being voted as the ‘Best Destination Spa' in India at the Travel + Leisure India & South Asia first edition of the India's Best Awards. The polling was conducted as a reader's poll both through the magazine and online in 2011, and culminated in the first announcement and Awards in New Delhi recently. With 49 awards across 29 different categories that range from the best country, emerging destination, cruise, business hotel, airport, luxury train, destination spa and honeymoon destinations in India and across the world over 500,000 of Travel + Leisure India & South Asia's discerning readers voted robustly and discriminatingly for these awards.
