This was a reverse trend of sorts. While Indians are known to visit iconic structure abroad to understand technological and architectural wonders—a group of MSc. Students from Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, today visited Marathon Futurex the eco friendly financial-cum-IT Centre as part of their research tour on green construction technology and sustainability—the hallmark of Marathon Futurex.
Marathon Futurex an ideal eco-friendly construction is the tallest commercial buildings in India. It is Gold Certified from Indian Green Building Council. The visiting students selected this landmark commercial complex located at prime location in Lower Parel for its state-of-the-art construction technology with unique energy saving design and principles that has led to energy saving of 30 percent.
Marathon Futurex will be the tallest commercial tower in the country standing tall at 558ft. It will be a workplace to more than 10,000 people and has 24 elevators to manage the traffic. With more than 1000 car parks and a podium of 1,90,000 sq. ft with landscaped garden and water cascades, Marathon Futurex is a project of a size that makes it unique in the world and at par with the world-class projects in Hong-Kong, China, Singapore and New York
Marathon Futurex has an advanced system ‘Building Management System (BMS), to manage, maintain energy consumption and secure the commercial premises. BMS controls security features like CCTV, electrical equipments, access control system, water and electronics management systems. The BMS system is well-connected with entire system of the building that enables micro-check on all aspects of the building to ensure secured environment and proper maintenance of the building.

For decades and decades, the world has been following the West. The developed countries have taken roles of the ‘trendsetter’ for the rest of the world to follow. Be it technology, inventions, education or any field, developing countries have always looked upon the American and the European countries.
