Company Release, October 1
NEW DELHI
The Indian Retail School (IRS), one of the country's leading retail institute, has tied up with TimesJobs.com, India's fastest growing jobs portal to organise a Job Fair for the retail industry.
This is the first such job fair being organised by Timesjobs.com in association with Indian Retail School, on October 1-2, 2005, at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. This fair is aimed at bringing leading players of the Retail Industry like Apparel Brands, Consumer Goods Companies and others under one roof and inviting eligible candidates to seek opportunities with them.
This exclusive Retail Job Fair will offer the industry an opportunity to showcase job avenues and also an opportunity to recruit simultaneously from a large pool of eligible candidates. The Retail Job Fair will witness participation from retail majors like Reebok, RPG Spencer's, Globus, NIS Sparta, LIC, Team4u and others.
Mr. Manoj Chawla, Chief Executive Officer, Indian Retail School said, " The retail sector in India is witnessing a huge revamp, as traditional markets make way for new formats such as departmental stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets and specialty stores. This throws open immense opportunities
for the employment in the retail sector. We f eel the importance to guide the students in the right direction , and provide opportunities best suited to individual profiles. They need to be made aware of the job opportunities in the retail sector. At times, a student knows where his interest lies but
is not able to choose a focused path. The objective of this fair is to have an interface with the retail majors and seek opportunities."
According to a spokesperson from Timesjobs.com, "Timesjobs.com has always been concerned with providing more employment opportunities to job seekers as well as suitable platforms to employers. Ever since their inception, Timesjobs.com's Big Leap Job Fairs have witnessed enthusiastic participation from job seekers as well as employers alike, with fairs being held almost every week, across the country, covering a range of industries like IT, ITES, hospitality, aviation etc. This retail job fair, which is the first one of its kind, is our attempt at highlighting the employment opportunities
available within this burgeoning sector."
The Indian Retail School has been established with the sole objective of making the retail industry more dynamic by providing the best practices and skills across the breadth of management roles within the industry. The Institute aims at producing talents for the developing retail industry in
India. This educational institution caters to four broad industry needs; a Certificate course for students who want to start a career in retail sales, a Management course for experienced retail people who aspire for better prospects, a course for entrepreneurs who wish to make their business ventures successful and a higher level specialization course in different retail operations.
