Company Brief
Mumbai, September 14, 2012
iStockphoto today announced a new way for customers to download millions of hand-picked, royalty-free photos, illustrations, videos and audio tracks. For the first time, visitors to iStock will be able to add as many files as they like directly to a shopping cart, pay with a credit card and download them. This new purchasing option shows pricing in cash and credits – iStock's own currency – and makes it easy for customers to see the cost of a single file in USD. Customers will benefit from the choice and additional flexibility in purchasing single images or credits.
iStock pioneered the credit system more than a decade ago and with the introduction of the new purchasing option, continues to provide customers with increased choice in the way they price and pay for downloads. In addition to the new purchasing option, visitors to iStock will now find millions of files starting at $2 or $3 USD. Furthermore, customers who have an existing iStock account now have the ability to re-download any file for as long as they would like, find similar files, utilize easier file size selection tools and search technology.
"The creative community is at the core of iStockphoto, therefore we are always actively listening and evolving to provide our customers with the most flexibility, transparency and top quality stock content," said Rebecca Rockafellar, Senior Vice President of e-commerce at Getty Images and General Manager of iStockphoto. "We want to ensure every user – from agency creatives to the novice content creator – has the option to choose the payment method that works best for them."
