Real Estate major Agrante Realty Ltd. has come with a very innovative way to celebrate and promote World Environment Day this year. They have launched a Green diary called Flip4green.

While a lot of corporates make and distribute diaries every year, Agrante has done it for special reasons – the environment. Their diary Flip4green is made up of used papers. In offices people tend to scribble or jot down a phone number rather quickly and they end up using a full page from a diary or their notebook. These papers include photocopies, printouts and sometimes even less meaningful work on one side. But the other side is perfectly re-usable. Agrante decided to put them together to notebooks which could be used by its employees and owners as well.

Mr. Arvinder Singh, MD Agrante Realty Ltd., says “Flip4green is our small contribution, addressing the growing concern of paper-wastage in offices. The simplicity of the project makes it even more special and feasible. All we did was to pick used papers and bundle them together in an appealing manner. You have your own Green Diary! This is something we would continue doing by collecting one-sided sheets every month and converting them into notebooks worth using. We hope a lot more people adopt this simple practice at homes and offices.”

To mark the significance and importance of the project, Agrante distributed the diary on the occasion of International Environment Week (3rd-7th June) with International Environment Day falling on 5th of June. They also plan to educate their employees on the practices and ways to save paper and other resources, so that they can induct it into their work culture. Mr. Ramesh Menon, CEO at Agrante, adds “We are feeling a sense of pride for having come up with Flip4green. It’s related to something about which we feel very strongly about at Agrante. We plan to make this a continuous and sustainable cycle and gradually bring down our notebook purchase to zero.”

A total of 50 notebooks, 30 sheets each, have been printed and distributed. All the sheets inside are used papers with only one-side free to scribble. Propagating green buildings through its real estate projects, Agrante considers this as something that reflects its brand in a very effective manner.

Anamika Joshi, creative director, nailbites, the agency behind this idea tells afaqs, “We were given a one liner brief to do something that reflects the green aspect of the brand. An idea which really makes impact and can be scaled up. We realized that people don’t use one-sided print outs for many reasons – fear of information getting lost once its written on them, unprofessionalism in carrying them to meetings or having them cluttering their desks, etc. The Flip4green notebooks thus clear off the mess and give you something really compact while having a great impact on saving papers.”
