Blogmint, a networked community of bloggers promoted and managed by Tangerine Digital, will collaborate with FameBox, a leading multi-channel digital video network, to provide a platform for people across the country to voice their views and opinions on topical matters. As a part of the initiative, FameBox will engage the Blogmint network to reach out to people across India and have them send in their views through videos shot on their mobile phones.

The videos could be about your opinion on the AAP, on your local politician or could even be jokes or cooking recipes. Initially the focus of this initiative is to gather people’s opinion on current affairs, comedy, entertainment, and food. Under this partnership, Blogmint will ideate and execute new campaigns regularly for each of the genre that will have multiple themes or stories on which users will be invited to create and submit innovative and quality videos.

With the increase of smartphone penetration in India, the power of content creation has now become easier than ever with all facilities equipped in the handset. The Indian smartphone market grew by 229 percent from last year, making every handset a potential video capturing device for content creators.

"Every individual with a camera or a mobile phone is empowered to voice their opinion and let the world know about it. It will be as easy as ‘click, record, send’ for viewers and participants. We want to reach out to people across India, not just in the Metros but also down to the smallest towns. Blogmint’s extensive reach and network will help us extensively in this process," explained Dhruvank Vaidya, Business Head, FameBox.

FameBox aims to create ‘Web Stars’ by providing a platform to emerging and established talent for showcasing their skills and ability. FameBox’s recent campaign, WebChef, India’s first web-based talent hunt for the best amateur chef in the country which is in its last leg has received a high number of entries from housewives to students to food bloggers. Entries poured in across cities in India including Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Vadodara, Jaipur and Varanasi amongst others.

Commenting on behalf of Blogmint, Seeraj Katoch, Chief Operating Officer, Tangerine Digital stated, "This unique partnership creatively defines the power of digital platform for talented individuals who are looking to showcase their work to the world. We are happy as well as excited to partner with FameBox. Interestingly, we will be using the power of social media and mobile apps like WhatsApp to crowdsource videos which will be historic in the digital revolution."
