What is the history of the Starbucks Frappuccino Blended Beverage?
The Frappuccino Blended Beverage was invented 17 years ago at a Starbucks in Santa Monica, California, by a store partner looking to provide an iced beverage for his customers. Customers in California were asking Starbucks store partners for a blended coffee drink and were disappointed that we didn't offer one at the time. That store began selling the new blended beverages as a variation on Iced Lattes and Iced Mochas. The new beverage option became so popular that it was offered at 10 more stores in California. In 1995 Starbucks created a proprietary blend of ingredients and the Frappuccino blended beverage was launched across the country. Seventeen years later, Starbucks Frappuccino blended beverage has become an iconic beverage that our customers from around the world know and love.
Starbucks entered the Indian market in October 2012 and currently operates forty four stores in India across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune and Bengaluru. Starbucks stores are operated by the joint venture, Tata Starbucks Limited, and branded as Starbucks Coffee - "A Tata Alliance".
