Eros International on Monday announced that its digital over-the-top (OTT) distribution service ErosNow has entered into a platform and content deal with one of India’s leading telecom service providers, IDEA Cellular.
Under the deal, IDEA’s 4G subscribers will have access to ErosNow’s premium bundled services including movies, music, TV content and ErosNow originals, according to a statement.
Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO, Eros Digital, said, “ErosNow’s association with a leading telecom player like IDEA provides us the ideal platform to reach a larger subscriber base and offer a very compelling array of Bollywood and regional content.”
Sashi Shankar, CMO, Idea Cellular, said, “Movies and videos is the highest consumed service category by data consumers on the IDEA network, and I’m confident that our association with ErosNow will provide an enriching experience to our 4G customers.”
IDEA currently has over 170 million mobile subscribers throughout India and has recently announced the launch of 4G services across five southern states of India, with plans to expand to 750 towns in 10 service areas, by June 2016.
The association with ErosNow will enable IDEAS’ 4G customers in these markets to enjoy rich premium content from a wide library of movies, originals and short form videos, at a monthly subscription price of Rs 49.
ErosNow, which claims to have a subscriber base of over 30 million registered users, offers Bollywood content including movies along with a selection of audio and video songs, television content and original videos.
