H2O launched underwater sea walk in Goa

H2O launched India’s first ever under water sea walk at Baina beach in Goa, on 8th Jan, in the presence of Shri Karl Vaz – Chairman MPDA. Now, for just Rs.1500 one can walk under-water for 20 minutes - up close with the pristine and beautiful water world.

Swimmers and non-swimmers alike can enjoy this unique opportunity to explore the heart of the sea safely. Baina beach has been chosen for the underwater sea walk after considering the visibility and safety factors. That 85% of H2O’s sales are derived from the ticket priced at below Rs 60 for the motorboat ride in Mumbai, demonstrates the company’s intentions – and efforts - to make water sports accessible to the common man.

Baina Watersport Festival, a two week festival, organized by H2O in collaboration with Marmagoa Muncipal Council (MMC) and Mr. Karl Vaz, MLA & Chairman MPDA, in order to introduce high quality tourism at Baina beach. The festive occasion was marked by the launch of underwater sea walk for the first time in India.

H2O with its launch of the underwater sea walk, is well on its way to becoming India’s largest and safest environment-friendly ‘adventure sports’ company. Conforming to the latest international standards, the underwater sea walk promises a thrilling experience previously only found abroad.

H20 a company incorporated in July 2000 is a special purpose company formed inter-alia to develop and operate Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation’s (MTDC) water sports center at the prestigious Girgaum Chowpatty.H20 was fortunate to be chosen by the Indian navy to be a part of the international Fleet Review held in February 2001.commercial trials were begun on the 1st April 2001 and H20 was inaugurated on 1st may at the hands of the Hon Dy. Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Mr. Rajiv Somani, Managing Director, H20, Age 47 years is an alumni from Mayo College, AJMER B.Com, and M.M.S – Mumbai. He is acknowledged as the pioneer in Water Sports Complex's and related activities. His hands–on experience provides the management with critical inputs required for administering a green field project as H2O. He has successfully managed mega events like ”F1 Power Boat Grand Prix", World Water Ski Show, National Sailing Championship 2002-03–04 and being a important part of The International Fleet Review- 2001. Mr. Rajiv Somani is the First Indian to be made the Officer of the Day for a F1 Power Boat Grand Prix. He successfully launched Mumbai’s first Public Water Sports Complex at Girgaum Chowpatty.
