Sansui India, the Indian arm of Sansui Electronics Japan, announced its World Cup offer - on buying a Sansui color television, customers get another television or a ten band world radio or a VCD player absolutely free.
Unveiling its unique World Cup offer, Mr. Anil Khera, Chief Operating Officer, Sansui India, said, We want to make the cricketing experience enjoyable to millions of people across India. The idea behind this offer is that people will remain tuned in, even when they are traveling, cooking or working, thereby enabling cricket lovers to experience the World Cup action ball by ball.
As per the Sansui World Cup offer, customers can get a 5.5 inch Sansui Core TV absolutely free with the purchase of 53 cms Studio-21 TV. If the customer is looking for a flat CTV model, he can get a VCD player with MP3 worth Rs. 3,990 free with the purchase of 54 cms Sansui Furatto-21 Flatotron Digital TV.
With the purchase of Sansui SY-14 Eye (with automatic smart eye sensor), customers could get a 10 Band World Receiver radio worth Rs. 800 free and a Walky free with Sansui Smart 20. This offer is valid until January 31, 2003.
During the World Cup season Sansui expects to sell about 2.5 lakh color televisions sets. Mr. Khera said, We would be able to achieve this target because not only the offer is very attractive, but because of the sheer range of products that we would be offering in the market.
In October this year, Sansui India had added six new models to its existing basket of products. 'Smart Eye' - the range that cares for the eyes is available in three models (14, 20 and 21 inches) and 'Studio Series' with its superior features like 11- program memory, self demonstration, selectable picture and sound in several modes. DVD / VCD / LD compatibility, is available in 20, 21 and 29 inches.
So far, Sansui India has grown by 33 per cent in terms of volume over the last one year and is targeting a market share of 10 per cent by the end of this financial year. The company had sold about 4.5 lakh CTVs last year and is targeting sales of 7.5 lakh CTV units by March 2003. Sansui India has also strengthened its dealership network and the total number of dealers, including direct and indirect dealers, stands at about 6000.
