Teradata establishes first global consulting centre in India

Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced the setting-up of its Global Consulting Center in India. The Global Consulting Centre will comprise of specialists who will serve as the essential Data Warehouse (DW)/Business Intelligence (BI) Center of Excellence (CoE) for Teradata customers in more than 15 countries. Global Consulting Centre will enable large companies to leverage the wealth of core DW/BI delivery competencies and support quality processes at a comparatively lower cost through an on-site/off-shore resource model. This is the third CoE established by Teradata, the other two being in Pakistan & China.

Teradata’s Global Consulting Centre India will be a key enabler of knowledge re-use and will act as a clearinghouse for Field-Based-Development (FBD) assets and applications for global enterprises. Designed to provide data warehousing and related capacity to field Professional Services organizations, it will acquire, adapt and disseminate consulting services best practices around the world. The India center will house 15-20% of all Teradata Professional Services staff who will support 80% of all consulting engagements in the Americas and Asia Pacific.

It will serve as the essential Data warehouse/ Business Intelligence center of Excellence for Teradata customers in Asia Pacific and the America’s.”

Teradata’s Global Consulting Center India will continue to aggressively develop and grow core competencies in areas like ECTL, BI, Knowledge Management and Field based development leveraging Teradata Application Platform. It will also tap into the wealth of core PS delivery competencies in the Global Consulting Centers and reduce the use of Outside Contracting Services (OCS) in the years to come.
