NEW DELHI, July 18
Hewitt Associates, a global human resources services company, today announced the launch of the Hewitt Asia-Pacific Salary Increase Survey 2006-7, which examines compensation, performance, variable pay, and long-term incentive trends, as well as attrition rates throughout the region. The study is widely regarded as a key benchmark tool by leading companies when it comes to designing and implementing pay programs in Asia.
Nishchae Suri, head of Hewitt’s Talent and Organization Consulting Analytics practice in Asia commented, “With the rapid onset of globalization, the war for talent has intensified in Asia Pacific in recent years, and today companies are finding it increasingly difficult to attract, motivate and retain the best talent. As such, smart organizations are further strengthening their reward management practices and globalizing pay strategies to enhance productivity, while keeping skilled talent within regional boundaries. The Hewitt Asia-Pacific Salary Increase Survey has become an invaluable resource for these organizations when it comes to determining salary and reward strategies in the region.”
The most comprehensive study of its kind in Asia, each year Hewitt surveys more than 1,500 foreign, locally-owned, and joint-venture companies as part of the Hewitt Asia-Pacific Salary Increase Survey. Conducted in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand; the study measures actual and projected salary increases, and compensation practices for five specific job categories, namely senior/top management, manager, professional/ supervisor/technical, clerical/support, and manual workers.
The Hewitt Asia-Pacific Salary Increase Survey is part of Hewitt’s global Salary Increase Survey series. Originally launched in the U.S. 30 years ago, today the study spans more than 35 countries and represents the compensation practices of over 4,000 organizations around the world.
