Deutsche Bank launches Credit Cards in India

MUMBAI

Deutsche Bank announced today that it has launched a full suite of credit cards in India. The launch marks the second pillar of Deutsche Bank’s consumer banking strategy in India - following the roll-out of retail banking last year.

SAVE with lifestyle specific savings plans and

CONTROL finances and manage savings with flexible billing

The customer can personalize his card by choosing from over 40 credit card designs which have been selected across categories as diverse as music, wildlife, zodiac signs, sports and child art. This feature has been introduced for the first time in India.

The Deutsche Bank Gold Card offers the additional option to customize the card providing the choice from several ‘Savings Plans’ structured around different key lifestyle and spend patterns. These different options called ‘Home Plan’, ‘Party Plan’, ‘Shop Plan’ and ‘Travel Plan’ enable customers to maximize savings based on their personal usage habits. In addition to this feature the customer also has the option of choosing his billing cycle to better manage and control his finances.

With these innovative features, Indian customers will now have a unique opportunity to own credit cards that truly reflect their personality and interests.

Cricketing legend Mr. Sunil Gavaskar, who is Deutsche Bank’s product ambassador in India, was presented the Bank’s first Platinum credit card by Mr. Colin Grassie, Chief Executive Officer - Asia-Pacific for Deutsche Bank. Speaking at the occasion Mr. Gavaskar said, “The Deutsche Bank Credit Cards draw from the power and financial strength of a leading global bank. I am looking forward to enjoying a premium offering with a comprehensive range of lifestyle benefits.”

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Colin Grassie, said,” An important element of our growth strategy in Asia is our strategic focus on the further development of our successful business in India, both in wholesale and retail banking. Today’s Credit Card launch in India is a first for Deutsche Bank in Asia and an important milestone for our business.” Mr. Grassie mentioned additionally that Deutsche Bank may also consider the launch of premium credit cards in China through its partnership with Hua Xia Bank.

Deutsche Bank’s product ambassadors in India - the legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and tennis icon Sania Mirza – will promote Deutsche Bank credit cards in India.
