NEW DELHI, August 3

Listeners of Radio Mirchi, India’s hottest radio station can now listen to their favourite radio station across Bangalore, Jaipur and Hyderabad on a common frequency, 98.3 FM, with effect from August 1, 2006. Earlier this year the private radio FM operators had made a presentation to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting seeking permission to switch over to a common frequency, per operator, across markets. Radio Mirchi listeners in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai already enjoy the advantage of tuning in to the station on 98.3 FM.

According to A.P. Parigi, Managing Director & CEO, Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL), “Operating from a common frequency will provide us with the benefit of building the brand in a consistent manner and help make our communication more effective, across cities. Moreover, listeners frequently on the move too can get their daily dose of Radio Mirchi while travelling inter city (between Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata).”

Radio Mirchi was earlier operational on 95 FM in Hyderabad, 93.3 FM in Bangalore and 105 FM in Jaipur.
