New mythological on DD1 explores significance of Gayatri Mantra

Earlier this week (10.00 am, August 24) a new mythological was premiered on DD1. Titled Gayatri Mahima, the series is based on the Gayatri Mantra and in fact, is the first serial to take up Gayatri as a subject for a mythological serial.

"With the current sway of the niche programming, a mythological like Gayatri Mahima attempts to define the philosophy of the divine Gayatri Mantra - of righteousness, knowledge and sadgyan - and it encompasses the essence of the four Vedas," says a note from Century Communication, which has produced Gayatri Mahima.

The series revolves around the origin of the Gayatri Mantra and the universe. It explores the powers of Brahma, the highest among all Hindu devas, and how he drew inspiration from the Gayatri Mantra to form the universe.

The programme will include the tales of Maharishi Vishwamitra, Satyavan and Savitri as well as Gautam Rishi to unravel how they attained success and salvation through Gayatri.
