Movie channel HBO is set to premiere a comedy series titled Sex and the City on October 4, 2003 at 11.30 pm. The show is scheduled for a weekend run after the Saturday Night Blockbuster, exploring human relationships especially those between opposite genders through the eyes of four single, glamorous ladies living in Manhattan.

Based on a book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, Sex And The City takes a candid look at the ups and downs, triumphs and turmoil, friendships and relationships in the lives of four women, Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Miranda Hobbes and Samantha Jones.

In each episode, the four women explore different points of view on a new aspect of a relationship with the hope that this quest will lead each of them to that one man who could bring them bliss and everlasting joy.

James Marturano, managing director, HBO South Asia says, "Commitment to high quality production, substantial budgets, sensitive and thought-provoking subjects and the extensive pool of talent behind and in front of the camera, all combine to create ground-breaking series with artistic excellence. We expect Sex and the City to be equally popular among men and women in India."
