This month, the number one kids’ channel of India Cartoon Network, goes green with the ‘network premiere’ of the Academy award winning animated movie – Shrek. Based on the exciting escapades of Shrek, the green ogre is on a mission to rescue Princess Fiona, his home and other fairytale creatures from Lord Farquaad, the ruler of Duloc. To ensure that this Hollywood blockbuster resonates with kids across India, the irreverent VJ Cyrus Broacha has been roped in as the voice of the one of the key protagonists – Donkey - in the Hindi version of Shrek. Slated to air in the popular movie block of the network, Cartoon Network Theatre on June 17 at 12 Noon, Shrek will be shown in four languages English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, exclusively on Cartoon Network.

‘Shrek’ is about a big green ogre who lives alone in the woods, feared by all the people in the land of Duloc. When Lord Farquaad, exiles all the fairy-tale beings in the woods, he sets to find Lord Farquaad to convince him to take the fairy–tale beings back where they belong. Lord Farquaad agrees, but forces Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona from an enormous dragon, who will become Farquaad’s bride. Along the way, Shrek befriends a talking Donkey (the voice of Cyrus Broacha), and falls in love with Fiona.
Will Shrek befriend Fiona or will she marry Lord Farquaad? Will the fairy-tale beings be able to return to their home? To find out, watch the network premiere of Shrek, on Sunday, June 17 at 12 Noon, only on Cartoon Network.
The month of June will also witness other exciting movie premieres on Cartoon Network such as – The Powerpuff Girls: The Movie; The Land before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration; and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret Origins.
