Paying a musical tribute to the spirit of Chennai, Radio City 91.1FM India's Leading Radio Network has exclusively partnered with Music Academy, Chennai for Shobana's first ever English Dance theatre performance called 'Maya Ravan'. The 'Queen of Abhinaya', Shobana will mesmerize audiences with 'Maya Ravan' on June 30, 2007 at Music Academy, Chennai 7PM onwards.

As part of this association, Chennai can tune in to an exclusive interview with danseuse extraordinaire Shobana on her performance on 'The Radio City Breakfast Show' on Saturday, June 30, 2007. Listeners also stand to win passes to the enchanting performance through on-air contests run on 'The Radio City Breakfast Show' and 'Radio City Joyride' from June 25-30, 2007.

Padmashree Shobana's labour of love, 'Maya Ravan' narrates the story of Ravana's abduction of Sita through bharathanatyam movements and has been in production for four years. Conceived, choreographed and directed by Shobana, the 90-minute dance drama in English has voices lent by Suhasini Maniratnam, Naseerudin Shah, Milind Soman, Jackie Shroff, Rohini and Revathy.
