Vijay TV’s Airtel Super Singer Junior & Hutch Kalaka Povathu Yaar 3 end on a high note

Reality hunt show Airtel Super Singer Jr and the comedy hunt Hutch Kalaka Povathu Yaar 3 in its third season recently concluded on Vijay TV. While the winners Krishnamoorthy, 14 and Siva Karthikeyan, an MBA student walked away with a whopping prize money of Rs. 5 lakhs each; the excitement on Vijay continues.

Leveraging the Super Singer brand; which was one of the most popular shows on television in 2006; the junior edition was launched in February, 2007. Airtel Super Singer Jr., the reality hunt in search of the best kid voice in Tamilnadu had thousands of kids exhibiting their singing skills. Judged by the most popular names of the music industry; the show shot up the rating charts in its finals stages. The show averaged a channel share of 18.2% (source: TAM; Chennai, ABC15+F, Feb-July, 2007) in its time band i.e. Friday-Saturday 8pm as against the shares of Jaya (3.6) and Raj (3.0) in the same slot. Usha Uthup and Chitra were the judges for the show; and in a grande finale the veteran Dr.Balamuralikrishna announced the winner of Airtel Super Singer Jr voted by the viewers. Now, that the hunt is over, the channel is geared up to launch the second season of the dance extravaganza Jodi No.1. Garnier Fructis continues its association with the show. The show which was a phenomenon in its first season promises to be a mega star studded dance extravaganza in its second season with 8 new celebrity couples. The show launches on August 3, 2007 airing in the channel’s well established reality time band; Friday-Saturday at 8pm. Advertisers are excited about the second edition of this hugely popular show and have been eager to associate.

On the other hand, Hutch Kalaka Povathu Yaar 3, the comedy hunt; airing on Fridays at 10pm successfully completed its third season on July 20, 2007. This time the competition had for the first time ever, women competitiors vying for the title and the prize money of Rs. 5 lakhs. The final performance of the competitiors recorded its highest shares of 28.4% in Chennai (source: TAM; Chennai, ABC4+, Week 27) and on Males a whopping 40% share. Now, in the same time band, Vijay is all set to launch its next part Hutch Kalaka Povathu Champions 3 on August 3, 2007. Seated on the judge’s table are S.Vee.Sekar, the popular comedian and the charming Uma Riyaz Khan. The best performers from the 3rd season are back to entertain in this edition. The show will continue to air on Fridays at 10pm.
