MAA TV stands second in AP today

Maa TV is a Telugu entertainment channel, carving a niche for itself in the market which is already crowded with 11 satellite channels, various cable channels and with around so many other new channels in the pipeline. It was ranked 5th in the state of A.P and 25th across India, in terms of viewership share, among 350 monitored channels.

It is now making its presence felt in the Television circuit in A.P. nudging its way past the other channels. Maa shedding its silence stands proudly at Second Place, going by the last week’s Television Audience Measure (TAM) reports about the Television Rating Points (TRP).

From around a 6 % channel share at the beginning of the year, to almost 12 % channel share, as per the latest week’s TAM data Maa has steadily worked its way up against the tough competition. Maa Maha Movie Sriramadaasu which was featured last week has been the highest watched programme among the woman audience.

Maa is following a very clear strategy of expansion and consolidating its viewership. The change in the management and subsequently the huge change in programming seem to have turned the tide in the channel’s flavour.

Right from its Technical excellence, Fun filled Programming, nativity and innovative content have undergone a tremendous change. Maa is also a pioneer in VAS based services. In a very short time span, Maa has made a mark on the Telugu viewer across strata and gender, the globe over, as a channel that is different - in terms of its attitude, freshness and novelty. It has also proved its mettle with the advertisers, having become a very attractive alternative to the market leaders – Gemini and ETV, as a channel that has delivered in terms of a viewership medium with returns.

The new Board sees immense potential in the channel, with respect to the market developments and envisages a great future for Maa TV.
